What we enjoyed most about this resort was its' size, small, but the fact that it came with our own dive guide that was ours alone was terrific. It was ju ... Subscribe to get the full story. Where exactly did you dive, what was the name of the resort?

Hi Jennifer, My wife and I stayed at Kusu Resort on southern Halmehera Island. It comes with your own, personal dive guide who gets to know you and your likes and dislikes. Three dives per day. No big stuff but lots of little stuff. My website: Markravitzartanddesign.com Check out my underwater section on the far right on the menu bar. Enjoy, Mark

Dear Mark, thank you for your reply. I’d be very interested to hear more about your thoughts on the resort! How did you like the rooms? Food? Comfortable beds? Dive boats?
By report author: mark ravitz in NY, US at Dec 28, 2024 16:40 EST
Hi Jennifer Kusu had 10 bungalows right on the water with an outside deck with steps down to the water. The main room was large with plenty of room to drop things down along with a comfy large bed. The food was fine and the staff will try to accommodate you as they can. We brought our own bottle of Vodka and kept it in the dining area in a refrigerator there. We came back to the resort for the morning safety stop and had a snack during that time. The dive boats are perfect for the environment and an easy rll back entry. After our stay for two weeks at Kusu we went to the Indonesian part of the island of New Guinea and went to the tribal area and stayed in the Baliun Valley Resort near Wamena, quite the contrast. I tried to attach some pics to this but to no avail so I'll email you directly. Enjoy! Kusu website: kusuislandresort.com Balium Valley website: papua-explorer.com
