It was drift diving so we had to follow the leader. If you still had air at the end of the dive, one could play around at the anchor line as long as you wanted. |

I had to ask repeatedly for a rinse bucket for my camera before it was begrudgingly provided. No area on boat or at the shop to work on camera. With the currents on every dive, it is a difficult place to take great pics. |

There is zero unemployment on the island due to government support. It leads to apathy in the work force. Sometimes they are just lazy, other times hostile for your existence. This behavior occurred at the dive shop, restaurants and bars. The owners Keith and Alice are lovely people. When they were in the shop or on the boat things ran better. When they were not, the divemasters acted up like ill behaved children. They do not change your tanks. One dive they did not even check their air which resulted in us having to go back to the dock for tanks. We did one night dive and it was very unsafe. They did not have any running lights. Finally, at my husbands insistance, they taped a flashlight to a front post. There were no lights on the boat whcih made it very difficult to pack up our gear at the end of the dive. The highlight of the trip was diving with the Mantas. We had almost an hour in the water with about 10 of them. Strong surge, heavy currents, lo-vis- not for beginners. Fabulous! Tobago has wonderful pristine reefs and we loved our dives there. We have been diving 13 years and this is the worst dive operations we have ever dove with. |
