Comments It was a long day getting to Port Ghalib where the Red Sea Aggressor is based. We flew from Washington DC to Frankfurt, Germany to Cairo to Hughada. After finding our bags we had a 2 hour van ride to Port Ghalib. We had a day room for about 12 hours before we were picked up by two RSA crew members. There were only 10 divers with 13 staff. The service was excellent. They assisted us in getting into and out of wetsuits, rinsed and hung them to dry after each dive. Dives were from the RSA and from a panga depending on the divesite. Water temps were 6F9 - 74F so I wore a 5mm and hood and was comfortible. Vis was excellent 60-100' depending on the site. There were lots of tropical fish, napoleon wrasse, a few turtles, grouper and cuttlefish but nothing big at that time of year. My son and I were the only 2 to see a manta in the distance at the edge of visability. Other than that there were the resident 2 white tip reef sharks at Shaab Sharm. We did 3 dives a day and 3 night dives (of which I only did one). Coral was in great shape we just must have gone at either the wrong time of the year for the larger pelagics or took the wrong itinerary (we took the Brothers/Daedalus/Elphinstone Itinerary).
