Comments This was our first liveaboard trip and it didn't disappoint. We took the Southern route through Daedalus, Rocky Island, and Zabargad. The visibility was great, water was warm, and we saw 4 different shark species throughout the week. Dolphins visited us on a few different sites. The staff on the dive boat were wonderful, helping us with dive gear, loading & unloading, and always had food & drink ready and waiting. A dive master usually went out on each dive but you could elect to follow along or go out for your own dive. Some of the dive sites were a bit crowded with several boats moored, but Heaven Saphir did a good job of trying to ditch the boat crowds. The meals were delicious and usually several courses of soup, salad, bread, main course and dessert. They did a good job with the vegetarians & vegans within the group. Most divers are from Germany or Switzerland and we were the first Americans (ever) on the boat. We found Egypt to be very safe, the diving was amazing, and I'm puzzled as to why more Americans don't make the trip. Although we combined our visit with a week of touring Cairo & Luxor, the Marsa Alam airport is only a few miles from the marina, with a very easy in & out.
