Comments I met Selina and Harm, the very friendly and energetic owners of Pilli pipa, on a Live a Board in Palau a few years ago. They told me they owned a dive operation in Kenya and frequently saw Whale Sharks. Having never been to Africa I felt this would be a destination to get me there, see friends, dive and go on Safari- which they offered to help set up and did. If you go diving here you must also go to Masai Mara on safari.
I was there at the beginning of the rainy season but saw very little rain. Although they had everything you would expect in the way of scuba equipment and facilities the bulk of their business is snorkelers they take to a Marine Park. Over the seven or eight days I was there I saw only one other dive boat with one diver and a guide, and was told that there were only occasionally other dive operators at the sites Pilla Pipa uses. Being the only diver on the large Dhow they use as dive boats I felt as if i was exploring virgin reefs. Conditions varied from calm water to one dive with heavy currents.
Pilla Pipa's web site is "pillipipa.com".
