Comments I fancied going somewhere different for a change of scenery from the Red Sea and the Canaries so opted for Cape Verde and the Island of Boa Vista. It is a bit like Canary Islands diving but a bit more rugged and less developed so very few divers on the dive sites!

It is Atlantic diving with rocky reefs rather than coral reefs. Visibility was about 10-15m and quite stirred up at times due to the weather and water was 21/22 degrees Celsius. Dives were typically in the 11-25m deep range and lasted about 30-50 minutes. Plenty of life including a nurse shark, sand tiger shark, turtle, porcupine fish, nudibranchs everywhere, rays, morays, lobsters and much more. We went out and did two dives in the morning and I was back at my hotel next door by about 1pm each day, leaving the afternoon for a lovely relax on the gorgeous beach.

This was more a holiday for relaxing with a bit of easy, relaxed diving thrown in but I would definitely recommend as a holiday destination with some diving. ScubaCaribe were very professional with the guide pointing out lots of life and the crew helping get all kit on and off the boat and divers in and out of the water. Plenty of rinse tanks and hanging space for gear post dive.

A beautiful location with wonderful people and some nice diving. As the locals say 'no stress'

Dive own profile no
Enforced diving restrictions Dive profiles are kept very conservative and dives quite short as there is no chamber on the island and also you are dependent on the air consumption of other divers who may be less experienced.

UW Photo Comments The water is quite stirred up so easier to get pics of macro stuff or close up critters, but plenty of those to keep you busy!
