Comments The Jolly Beach Resort is an older resort recently reopened after the pandemic. It has been painted up but lots of little things like bathroom doors falling off and a/c units leaking haunted our room in spite of the new paint. Note however, this facility was chosen by price and location so we were pleased with both. I would return.

The Indigo Divers reviews I read prior to departure were extremely positive however, they were almost exclusively written by beginner divers enthusiastically extolling the patience and friendly attributes of the staff. We weren't anticipating much as professional divers leading excursions had better be both personable and patient or should be out of the business. In most cases the dive shops we have used have been great and this was no exception.
The reason I subscribe to Undercurrent is experienced divers are writing the reviews and are usually not as easily impressed as a beginner. We were satisfied and pleased.
Indigo Divers takes trips daily on a good new boat accomadating up to six clients consisting of cruise ship passengers, people taking courses and divers like us staying on the island.
Early days of our 10 day trip had us diving with wide range of fellow divers. We completed a few less exceptional shallow 40 foot dives of only 50 minutes but hey,we're diving so how bad can it be? The reefs were quite healthy, quite flat and shallow. Fish were varied and occasionally came in large schools.
The best diving was later in our week when we were the only customers and first dives were up to 60 feet. By this time the crew were used to us and had learned how to assist me, I have some mobility issues when not immersed, and relaxed letting us take our time looking at the micro reef life. While looking for the small things we were interrupted by rays, eels, barracuda and sharks. The sharks appeared almost magically when the dive master speared lion fish. As well as serving lion fish to sharks, losters were also fed and that was most entertaining.
The take away from this review is the diving was fun even though not a lot of unusual species were spotted. Much better than either of us expected.
