Comments Booked my trip months in advance to get away from the cold weather in the NE where I have spent my winter for my job, not knowing I would be caught up in the COVID-19 drama. When I left the states there were few restrictions but everything went awry while I was in Aruba. The day after I arrived all incoming international flights were cancelled and my hotel closed after five of my planned seven nights. Fortunately the airline was accomodating my change in flights with no fees or issues.
I had three days of diving planned and was able to do them all. It was two morning dives each of the three days. There was only one other diver during the first two days and I was solo with Clive on the last day. I enjoyed the freedom he gave to us as experienced divers. All of our dives were at least an hour long. Fortunately we were both quite experienced as I am not sure what would have happened if the other person was not very experienced.
The first dive of each day was to a wreck and then the second dive was a drift dive along the reef. Day 1 was to airplane wrecks. There were two of them which we were to do on the first dive but there was a technical problem with my buddy's weights so we dove on one for the first dive and the other for the second dive along with some drift diving. Day 2 was a large boat wreck. It was not the Antilla as we did not go up the coast that way. It was a nice wreck with some swim throughs. Day 3 was a smaller boat wreck right outside of the harbor.
Each dive has something unique about it. There was always something memorable from the dive like the turtle we saw on the second day. Saw barracuda, morays, shrimp, sergent majors, angel fish, box fish, lots of juvenile fish. Some good coral and some broken up coral. One location looked like it had been bull dozed with all of the broken coral. Medium sized sea fans. Nice sized sponges. I had to hunt for the shrimp and the crabs that I saw. I saw two sting rays each on separate dives. There were sandy areas with goat fish searching the sand and several what looked like jaw fish popping up from their holes.
If you do not want to be baby sat and allowed to dive some good sites I would recommend Dive Aruba. I could not say what it would be like for less experienced divers.

Glad you enjoyed Aruba diving. I've been using another dive shop (Fly n Dive), but you got to some good sites. Aruba doesn't have sharks (very rarely, maybe a nurse shark), but lots of schooling fish, more than I've seen on recent Cayman trips, Hope to arrive on Aruba May 9th if the airlines are running
