Comments | After extensive research on the internet we choose Sunn Odessy Divers in Freeport, Grand Island. They are a smaller shop catering to smaller groups. We stayed at Tainoe beach resort which was a ways from Sunn Odessy. We would take a water taxi to Port Lacaya where Nick or Karen (owners) would pick us up and drop us off daily. We went to Grand Island specifically to see sharks. Not to pay for a baited dive but to dive naturally with them. We were not disappointed. Our first sites were not very colorful and did not have a lot of fish. I came to the surface thinking "man this is going to be a wasted trip". But after talking with Nick we were taken to other sites that were everything we wanted. Good corals, lots of canyons, full of fish, and sharks. On several dive a group of six or seven would come right in amongst us eyeing us over. Having not ever dove amongst them it was SPECTACULAR. Sunn Odyssey was extremely helpful, courteous and knowledgeable of the areas we dove. Due to customs being in Grand Island and not Miami we almost missed our flight simply by not getting in line two hours prior to boarding. What I mean to say is that by the time we got in line it took them so long our flight had boarded. | ||
