Comments So, what can I say? Typical as expected for Aggressor fleet diving. Second time on this one. The diving was excellent with many dives starting with videoing the divers being surrounded by Caribbean reef sharks and finishing with macro of sail-fin blennys or seahorses. It was worth commenting, again, the variation between large and small critters.
The diving crew were excellent. Not only were they excellent guides but they had great attitudes about showing everyone things. All of my dives were well over 1 hour and I learned that some of the dive masters would wait until about an hour, when some divers were returning to the boat, and then take you off and show you very interesting stuff. Like a field of eel grass with dozens of pipefish, a colony of sail fin blennys, juvenile queen angels or seahorses.
Our group had no issues with diving within the requirements of Aggressor fleet so the dive masters were never critical except for a few who would not stay with a buddy. Aggressors policy is everyone has a buddy and no one does "same ocean same day" diving. Dive for 70-80 minutes if you want. Just follow your computer. Everyone needs a computer. No planned deco diving. Nitrox recommended.
Accommodations were the typical small state rooms with tiny showers - heads. Meals were excellent in my opinion. Generally, seconds and thirds available except when they grilled a steak or something, then only one. Open bar policy with their Aggressor label wine and a keg of beer on sun deck. Once you drink, no diving for at least 8 hours. Only malfunction for the week was some part (for the heater) of the hot tub had broken and was ordered but had not arrived by sailing time. So, no hot tub.
On this boat with this itinerary, all diving is off the dive deck from the Aggressor. No Zodiac diving. They schedule 27 dives in 6 days. You can do more. If you do all 27 you get an "iron diver" award which is worthy of some prestige.
