Comments Another good trip aboard the Belize Aggressor IV. This was my 18th trip aboard this boat and with most of this crew, and my previous positive experiences were repeated.

We'd arrive about a week after Hurricane Ian passed through the area, so the visibility was affected somewhat, but it wasn't much of an issue other than that.

On the Monday of our trip, a diver suffered decompression sickness. The crew handled the whole incident impeccably, providing medical assistance on the boat, compiling information and data on the diver’s profiles, and handling the logistics of getting the diver to the chamber. I’ve been diving all over the world since 1979 and have witnessed more than a few diving accidents.. Few have been handled as cleanly as this one. That crew is the main reason I keep returning to that particular boat; their training and professionalism in handling this incident was superb.

Those who are compelled to dive the blue hole are accommodated, weather permitting, and those who've been there and done that can do a really pretty, active, shallow dive around the rim instead.

UW Photo Comments Camera soak tanks are available on both sides of the boat, and the crew is diligent about keeping any other equipment out of those tanks.

The crew is attentive to the photographers, handing cameras in after the diver's entry and ready to take the camera as one approaches the ladder at the end of the dive. The camera is taken directly to the aforementioned camera tank for a quick rinse, then placed on one of the the two-tiered camera tables for the diver to deal with. The camera rinse tanks are available, post-dive, for more soaking if desired, and compressed air is available at each table as well.
There is a charging station in a protected corner of the dive deck with the capacity to handle plenty of charging units.
