Comments Sooo easy to get to Sunbreeze Hotel, you can roll your own bag{s} around the corner from the Ambergris airport or let the resort porter roll it over for you. Both the airport & the resort are adjacent to the town, San Pedro, which is charming and full of quaint shops & really good local restaurants.

Diving is through the surrounding reef's cut so there is no shore diving. As with most of the Caribbean these days, the coral is seriously stressed and generally covered with algae, although wall formations are still attractive. The water temperature in May was a consistent 86 degrees down to +100 feet -- an obvious detriment to the coral. But no need for wetsuits, although dive skins or a 3-mil suit is warranted for protection from the usual floating stingies. The major attraction is the free-swimming nurse sharks that frequently approach divers. Hawksbill turtles an reef sharks are freqently sighted too.
