Comments - Amigos del Mar dive shop
The dive shop provided great service. They would pick us up at our resort in the morning (as early as 5:30a for Blue Hole and Turneffe) and return us in the afternoon (5:00p - 6:00p). The boats were clean and the crew were great. Hats off to Mike, George, Alex, and Juan. They did a great job on the boat and leading dives. George was particiularly adept at spearfishing lionfish (there were plenty). The shop rinsed and stored our gear after each days' diving. My disappointment was with the reefs and quality of sealife around Ambergris Caye. The dive shops hand feed the "locals" so we saw plenty of grouper and Nurse Sharks. In fact, one Nurse Shark kept bumping into the dome port on my camera looking for food. I enjoyed diving the Blue Hole although its a short dive due to the depth. We saw several reef sharks while we did our safety stop. For the photographer, Belize's sealife is a disappointment if you've been elsewhere in the world.

-Pelican Reef Villas
My family stayed at Pelican Reef Villas which is a 2.5 mile golf cart ride south of San Pedro. We had a condo which was top notch. The Villas had a pool and a bar that served breakfast and lunch. The food was good and the employees were great. Lori who manages the property is top notch. Service was fantastic. I just wish the sealife were better to bring me back!

UW Photo Comments Amigos del Mar kept fresh water coolers dedicated to cameras on each boat. The "camera table" on the Papa Changa (largest dive boat) was used for snacks. No place to work on your camera while on site.
