Comments Aqua Dives was a good dive shop and they took care of all your gear everyday. All you did is get on and off the boat. They brought it out to the boat and rinsed it afterward for you. We didn't have any problem with the dive shop, but I know a couple people did (they didn't stay at our resort, they stayed north of our hotel) because they didn't run a special boat a few days because enough people didn't sign up for it. Aqua dives had no way of getting a hold of these divers because their resorts had no phones or ways to get a hold of these divers. This just confirmed to us that you should dive out of your resort.

Diving was great and ending up seeing lots of nurse sharks. Sometimes around 20 at a time. There were a couple of big moray eels and lots of other fish to see.

The food at our hotel was really good and was reasonable. It was kind of a higher end restaurant, so we only ate there a few times. In between boat dives, because they came in for surface intervals. The dive shop also did ran boat dives 4 different times a day, so you could pick which two you wanted to go on. Which was really nice if you didn't want to get up early, you could sleep in and do a later dive. Our boats were never full and mostly had up to maybe 10 divers. Most days it was about 6 divers. One day it was us two and two divemasters, so we got to go on a special dive they don't normally take people to.

The hotel was good, nothing fancy, but was fine for diving. At first they put our room next to the main walkway, next to the kitchen. That lasted one night and we asked to be moved. They did move us and the rest of the time we had no problems.

Town is only a couple of blocks away from the hotel and is very good and reasonable. Next to the hotel on the south side was a little hole in the wall for breakfast. Good and cheap. For other dining, we really enjoyed Elvi's (restaurant has a tree in the middle of it) and also Carumba's. Both of these places were really good and reasonable. One day we did 4 dives and were really tired, so we ordered pizza from Pirate's Pizza. They delivered to the hotel on bicycles. Pizza was really good.

We went to a little coffee shop in town every night to get internet access as it was not available at the hotel. But the shop was nice and air conditioned (a plus, compared to other cafe's) and we just got on the internet after we had dinner.

Ambergris Caye is really quant and the people there are really nice and informative. The means of transportation on the island is by golf cart and we got a kick out of all the different ones they had and how they were modified.

This was our first dive trip that was not all inclusive. We enjoyed being able to go into town and experience the local restaurants. We do enjoy the all inclusive because when you are hungry you don't have to go looking for it, it is right there. But since the downtown area is right around the corner (within a 4 block radius), it is not a long walk.

It was a great trip and we will be going back again.
