Comments Note: We were on the Aggressor IV.
I started planning this trip in October, 2019, when a small group of friends were on the Red Sea Aggressor. I contacted a friend, who is a travel agent, about putting the trip together, and she did an amazing job of developing a web site specifically for this group. Of course, no one ever anticipated the effect of COVID and the ever changing restrictions and requirements regarding travel to and from a foreign country. I originally booked cabins for 14, and as some became uncomfortable about travelling, I endeavored to find replacements as Aggressor would not budge or issue credits, except for one person who was supposed to come from the UK. With the help of my travel agent (warmwatertravel.com)the final count was 12. My group came from Maine, GA, FL, and VA. The other 6 came from PA, NV, and CA. Aggressor was very quick to respond to my question about testing to return to the US and personnel came on board on the Friday with results being available in 4 hours. Belize City was pretty deserted when we got there, and there was definitely a strong compliance with mask mandates, which we wore until we reached the boat on Saturday, March 12 at 3.00 All the staff had on masks and it was requested we leave on ours until the Captain had given us the general message about requirements on the boat. One of the dive masters kept his on for most of the trip, others did not. Aggressor offers five dives a day, (except when diving the Blue Hole and on that day it was 4) and the Iron Diver certificate and medal for those who complete this effort. We did two dives in the morning at one site, going one way on the wall and the then other, both times ending up at the top of the reefs (which was actually my favorite part). We did not have to follow the guides until we wanted to, most did. Two afternoon dives and one night dive, sometimes before dinner and sometimes after dinner. Someone saw a hammer head early on in the wee. Other sightings included spotted eagle rays, nurse and black tipped sharks, blennies, lobster, crabs, moray and spotted eels, plus most of the usual suspects (parrot fish, angel fish, etc). The blended group of passengers got on extremely well, the crew was magnificent, the food - plentiful, including mid morning and mid afternoon snacks. The cabins did not have bunk beds (yeah) and there was plenty of luggage storage. It is definitely a trip we all said we would repeat.
