Comments This was dive destination #3 of 4 from the Carnival Legend cruise ship. We were picked up from the boat by the crew for a 20 min ride to the shop to pick up equip. We only brought our regs. and compasses. The boat was spacious,I believe it was a 46' Newton, as we had a smaller group- maybe 18. We had a very bumpy 45 min. boat ride out to the calm waters of the actual site. Our crew was very friendly and helpful, and gave a thorough dive briefing. Our divemaster- Tamaz- said she liked to look for the little crabs and shrimps, which gave us pause. This often means there's nothing much else to see.The entry was a little different- we went to the back of the boat, where the crew put our fins on our feet at the dive platform. The underwater topography was a beautiful mix of fans, golden crinoids, and soft corals, but, sparse of any normal sized fish. It seemed to be a nursery area with many tiny juveniles. We saw two 10" groupers, and then the divemaster clanked loudly- pointing out- a shark, spotted eagle ray?? NO- a french angel fish,a banded coral shrimp, and another time a small barracuda. That's the kind of dives these were. The first dive site was Terrace, the second, Mandy's Dandy, which had a little more life. The crew fed us well during the SI- fresh pineapple, salsa & chips, homemade fruit bread, and watermelon. We inquired about the lack of fish, and the tiny groupers we saw, and were told the Nassau Grouper was now protected, but most of the area had been fished out. Our equuipment was changed over for us, and back in we went. The dive times were 49 and 51 min., the depths were about 55'. Although there was a lack of fish on our dives- the dive operation was great!
