Comments Just the two of us rented one of the two houses which have crashing surf all the time. Heavenly. House is very, very basic but has a terrific deck and comfortable beds. Very clean although hot water is tricky to get working. Short walk to meals and to diving. Meals were basic, local food but really well prepared and delicious. There is a bar on the dock but usually we bought something there to drink and took it to our deck (with the crashing surf). Dive staff and boat drivers are very experienced and friendly. Only complaint is that we kept diving the same sites day after day after day. It could have been because of rough seas or maybe because there were so few divers there. At times there were only two couples on the dive boat (and we were there for ten days) so I think that travelling (and using gasoline) might have been an issue. I have had much better diving and more diverse sites when staying at Turneffe Reef Resort, which we have done several times. We wanted something different and closer to some better dive sites and we got something different, but not in terms of the diversity of dive sites.

How were the no-see-ums? We were there a few years ago and that was our only problem, especially at the dive dock.

no problem with no-see-ums. maybe one of the beds had some bugs (i cannot remember...but i moved to another bed one night when i could not sleep and i sort of remember having lots of bites) but the bugs were not a problem for us.
