Comments Ramone's Village runs a decent dive shop in San Pedro Town on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize. It is a good choice for recreational divers on vacation. Their PADI 5 Star dive op has their own dock in front of Ramon's Village. The dive staff is professional and efficient. With a flotilla of several boats they provide an uncrowded opportunity to many divers at dive sites just outside the reef. The diving is done in typical Caribbean groove and spur formations. Water temps while we were there in early May 2014 averaged 80 degrees. Vis was between 35 to 60 feet. Surface 84 degrees. Ambergris Caye has enjoyed a reputation of excellent, inexpensive diving that is reasonably accessible from the U.S. and many other countries. The multitudes who have visited this beautiful island over the years have put increased dive pressure on the marine environment which is becoming noticeable. Ramon's does a good job of mixing up dive sites and pointing out critters, big and small. Nurse sharks and groupers on every dive, reef fish, crabs, lobsters and occasionally spotted eagle rays. Surface intervals are done back at the dock. Small island feel and variety of topside opportunities makes this a nice vacation destination.
