Comments Most dives are on walls; the best are out at Lighthouse Reef. Skip the Blue Hole - it's highly overrated, in my opinion.

Heavy rains had occurred the previous week. That may have contributed to the less-than optimal visibility on this trip. The water was a bit milky, reducing the visibility from what normally would experience here. No matter, it was still a great week of diving.

This is my 11th trip to Belize, and my 9th trip aboard the Sun Dancer II. It is a superior liveaboard dive experience - the best boat in the western hemisphere, in my opinion. The boat is laid out extremely well, and the cabins are spacious by liveaboard standards. The crew is superb - highly committed to the clientele, patient with the troublesome, and just fun to be with. The food is consistently excellent.

My friends and I are already planning our next trip to return.

UW Photo Comments Two camera tables and two camera-only rinse tanks. Charging station nearby. Crew will hand you camera to you after you enter the water and take it from you as you approach the ladder. The crew will give the camera a quick rinse in the tank. It's up to you to soak or rinse further.

So, skip the Blue Hole? Would you go to Paris and skip the Eiffel Tower? Just wondering.

No, but the Eiffel Tower has a view, one can stay on the Tower a lot longer than 10 minutes, and there's no penalty for the next 3- 4 hours for having gone. To each his own...

I agree with George.I wish they would offer an alternative. It takes up 2 dives [due to depth concerns] and there is not much to see.As spectacular the Blue Hole is in an aerial photo, the view under water is nothing.
