Comments | This was our 2nd trip to Turneffe Island Resort and if anything it has improved since our last trip. The resort is on a 13 acre island 35 miles off the coast of Belize in the southern end of the Turneffe Atoll. The Resort offers Diving, Snorkeling, and Fishing. The diving was very good and ranged from drift dives in ripping current, to wall dives with lots of Grey Reef and Blacktip sharks, to going to the Great Blue Hole early enough to beat the crowds and doing a deep dive among the stalagmites and reef sharks. Other unique things we saw were spotted Toadfish, Arrow Blennies, Loggerhead Turtles, and an assortment of Nudibranches. There was some coral bleaching particularly with the Plate Coral but the other corals especially the Staghorn seemed to be in very good shape. Some of the fisherman also saw Manatees and Crocodiles. The resort itself is very nice with small cabins with No Television and No Phones. The rooms have large screened porches overlooking the sea and outdoor showers. Meals are served at set times and served " Family Style" This is one of our 2 favorite resorts and I can't recommend Turneffe Island Resort enough. | ||
