Comments We've been to Bonaire several times, staying at the Carib Inn nearly every time. Little seems to have changed, which is good, though island construction has increased (which is to the detriment of the ecosystem). Diving at Carib Inn is easy. Sign up for your dive in the morning and again in the afternoon; small boats with a max of 12 or so people. Very organized; most divers seem to be repeats who know the drill. DMs are super helpful, and in the water, good at finding things without stressing the animals. I found the coral life to be better than I recall, as it's been a few years since I've been here. Fewer travelers during COVID might have allowed the reef to bounce back a bit, maybe? No restaurant at the Carib Inn; we walked to the big grocery store (a little less than a mile) to stock up for the week, and we ate out twice for dinner (expensive). While shore diving has great appeal for many Bonaire divers, we didn't do any other other the nondescript shore at the Carib Inn. However, I was pleased to discover a ton of juvenile fish near the shore when I snorkeled off the dock one day. Negative COVID tests were required going and returning at that time, though the requirements were subsequently dropped.
