Comments Three major events in late 2008 damaged this great dive destination. Warm waters brought coral bleaching, a virus killed hundreds of eels, tropical storm Omar in Oct. caused serious damage to corals and sponges from large ocean surges. It took out most docks, stripped all life from 25' to shore line, no snorkeling left, have to go 30' or deeper to see reef life. The famous night dive at the town pier is gone for ever. They had to scrape the pilings to inspect damage...so sad, would not go back if not for the shore diving.
