Comments The last time we came to Bonaire was in 2003, and now, 13 years later, I realized what we were missing all these years, incredible diving, great dive operation, friendly people, new restaurants. This time we've stayed at Captain Don Habitat, mainly because I still remember (closed about 10 years ago and my heart still bleeds) Habitat Curacao, Captain Don's sister resort on Curacao, which was Curacao's greatest dive resort. Our expectations have been met and then some. Captain Don has celebrated its 45th anniversary during our stay. How many dive resorts can share this longevity? The resort is being renovated one section at a time, we stayed in the newly renovated Junior Suite, and everything just perfect. Captain Don's dive crew practices diving freedom rule, dive your own profile, but come to the boat in about 60 min. Every dive was great, amazingly enough, we've encountered very few lion fish, but quite a few sea horses and frog fish, nurse shark. The reef is lush and healthy. So, summarizing, this one was a great diving vacation!
