Bonaire has the best diving in the Carribean. 5 seahorses on one dive and turtles are common. No hurricane worries because the island is so far south. The Flamingo/Dive Bonaire operation is OK to very good. Buy the breakfast meal package, and if you are a big eater, maybe lunches for the days you are going to do an afternoon dive--otherise do the Chibi Chibi a la carte. Go to town for dinner--really high class resturants with fine dining abound. On the dive boat, try to stay with the same boat and crew for the week. Once the crew gets to know you and realize you aren't a hassle, they become a lot of fun. Be prepared for a range of divers from newbies to grandmothers, all of whom are looking for what Bonaire has to offer--carefree, extremely easy diving. If you want to do what you want, when you want, how you want--rent a car and shore dive and leave the boat crowd behind. |

UW Photo Comments | I have stopped shooting, but Bonaire is a great place to get photos. Set up on boat is OK, but there are lots of non-photographers and if you freak out when a kid rinses his mask in the camera bucket, this is not your dive operation. |
