Comments This was the 20th trip for us to Divi Flamingo, diving with Divi Dive Bonaire. The flight down on Delta is fine, but coming back thru Atlanta is a pain going thru Customs.
The hotel is very basic, but adequate for us. There are numerous excellent restaurants within walking distance ( Capriccio’s, Patagonia, It Rains Fishes, Divers Den).
The dive operation is excellent, with Laurel & Alvin as our boat dive masters.
The viz was the poorest we’ve ever seen in Bonaire with milky hazy conditions daily. There were multiple cruise ships in each day, with the thrusters spewing great amounts of sand over the reefs. We saw more beautiful green morays than ever before, usually 0-2 lion fish on each dive. The juveniles were in good number & even saw a nice bait ball.
Overall, the diving was good & hopefully the viz will improve by Summer as those humongous cruise ships go elsewhere.
