Comments This was our 22nd visit to Divi Flamingo with Wateree Dive Center. This has been a good reliable dive destination & the dive operation has been solid. Laurel & Carlos are wonderful dive guides. Serge, the dive operation manager, has moved on, and the new guy had not yet started. The diving environment has slowly gone down compared to 20 years ago. The fish life is still good, but not great. The corals are still good, been also have become less vibrant. The cruise ships, sometimes twice daily, send surges of sand over the sites near the cruise ship docks. Dive sites such as the salt pier and away from town are better.
The rooms are being redone & ours was adequate, but just ok. The restaurants on the property are good with good service.
Local restaurants are really good with Sebastian’s, Capriccios, Patagonia & a few others really standing out.
Our flight back to Atlanta unfortunately had a number of travelers sick so a number of others got a flu like illness shortly thereafter.
Overall, we enjoy returning, but it’s time as a shining dive destination is fading.
