Comments | The Black Durgon is a small, inexpensive, quiet, quaint, friendly, and relaxing place to stay and dive. Most guests are repeat visitors (this was our 4th visit). The house dives are Small Wall (very nice) and Black Durgon Reef (significant storm damage to the reef to a depth of 40'). 3 tanks (either 80s or 63s) daily are included in the dive package, and tanks can be dived on-site or taken anywhere on the island for shore dives. There is no on-site compressor, boat, or restaurant. Accommodations are relatively Spartan, private and very quiet--the antithesis of places like Buddy Dive or Capt. Don's. The perfect place to relax and dive on your own schedule. If a sighting of a pipefish excites you as much as sightings of large or obvious sea life, then this is the place for you. Go with someone you like; you might be the only ones there. | ||

UW Photo Comments | The Black Durgon has a nice dive pier, a nice reef, and a rinse tank large enough to accommodate a housed SLR with dual strobes. What more could one ask for? |
