Comments My longtime dive buddies & I have been periodically visiting Bonaire since 1992. While things topside have changed somewhat (like lots more dive operations) the diving still remains as pristine as ever. Not a lot of big fish to be found but that's pretty typical of the Carribean in general these days. The colorful coral & small critters (such as frogfish & seahorses) remain excellent photo subjects.

We had always stayed at Capt.Don's Habitat before, but decided on Plaza Beach Resort because it is the only 'all-inclusive' resort on the island & my crew tends to run up big bar bills. The resort is fine, although it's a little run-down & about time for a make-over. WiFi is spotty but generally available most areas. The bartenders are quite friendly & generous with the alcohol & the food is varied & tasty. The resort also sprays for bugs & we never had problems except for an occasional mosquito.

The dive operation is very professional w/ good rental gear available. The boat is roomy, the divemasters & boat captains are excellent. The diving is easy w/ little current & shore diving is available from Plaza's beach.

We used to have to fly from Houston through San Juan to get to Bonaire but United has recently started flying direct, which makes the trip easier & quicker.
