This was our 3rd trip back to Grand Cayman. The diving there is very easy. Visibility is always 100'+ and the water is always flat calm depending on the side of the island on which you are diving which is always dependent on the wind direction. The west side is bordered by a sloping wall with spur/grove and patch reef inside. The north side has a sheer wall with spur/grove and patch reefs inside. The south side is shallower with primarily patch reefs. The north side of Northwest Point is a mini-wall. All sites are incredibly healthy with lots of marine life. Current is almost non existent. As far as the dive operator is concerned, while there are a number of excellent operators on the island, on the last two trips back we dove with Ambassador Divers. We dove with them for the first time this past April and were so impressed that when we decided to return this June we didn't consider anyone but Ambassador Divers. When we go back again, we will not consider any other operator than Ambassador Divers. Everyone on the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the dive platform on the boat is spacious and wide open. Even with a full boat, there is still plenty of room. Ambassador Divers is our operator of choice on Grand Cayman. |
