Comments | We picked Grand Cayman (GC) this year for our 11 yr old to complete her Jr. Dive Certification. We've used DiveTech on previous trips and were not disappointed with their thorough and detailed training for our daughter. Our thinking was GC offered, short boat rides, good vis, multi level dives that offered the ability to cruise over the mini wall, and "big" wall at her max depth of 40 ft and still have a great, first open ocean experience. We also liked the fact that she could do a shallow wreck dive (Kittewake) along the top deck and have the Sting Ray City dive experience as well. In addition, there were great shore dive areas at Eden Rock, Light House Point, and Macabuca where we could dive together with short swims to the wall. Those shore dives helped keep the budget in check. Overall, a great variety of dives for her first experience! Our last 2 dives were with Ocean Frontiers on the East End. 1st rate operation. A bit more wave chop on that side, but well worth it for the chance to see some better reef conditions on that side of the island. We've already booked a return trip to Cayman for next summer. This time we are planning more East End dives. :-) | ||
