Comments This was our dive shop's (Wateree Dive Center in Columbia, SC) annual trip to the Caymans, usually to Little Cayman. We flew Charlotte to Georgetown by USAirways and to Little Cayman on a Cayman Airlines twin otter. The arrival and check in is pretty easy and we stopped for some "spirits" at a local stores and the prices were pretty high ($62.50 for a case of Red Stripe) and high prices on rum, etc . We were with Warren, a superb dive leader whom we had asked for, and Jo, a new Brit. The boats are excellent(Newton 46's) and sturdy to take the waves through the cut out of the reef in front of the hotel. The boat rides are about 20' and the north wall and Marine Park were calm. The viz was generally >100 feet on the wall and 50-70 on the hardpan. We several a few sharks, inquisitive, but just generally swimming slowly along the wall. We saw lots of turtles, young and older, Loggerheads, Hawksbill, and Green. There was hardly any current all week. The weather was generally good, with some showers, but was enjoyable. The reefs were generally very healthy and with excellent fish life. The ban on grouper fishing is helping and we saw a lot more than last year or the year before. There were more younger grouper seen also.

The hotel is fine, with clean rooms and good service. I wish there was another way to dry skins, swimsuits, etc since the outdoor drying area is open and nothing dries due to passing rain showers. Hanging clothes on railings is not allowed, so that could be better addressed.

The food is great, served buffett style. The food is hot, well prepared and plentiful. Claudia does a nice job running the dining room.

The bar is very good, with friendly helpful bartenders. No complaints at all.

Overall, coming to Little Cayman Beach Resort is a real treat. The diving, staff, food, etc can't be beaten and that's why we keep returning. I logged #1000 during the trip. Now, starting another thousand.
