Comments [None]This dive trip was surprisingly a great trip. The food and accommodations were very good, which surprised us due to the remote location of the island and sparse population. The food was cafeteria style for all meals and better than expected, but the restaurant changed it up every meal to not have redundant menus. Rooms and room service were quite good and very comfortable. All rooms are air conditioned. The resort had a cabana style bar, swimming pool, and hot tub. The package included room, meals, and a "drink ticket" which had a lot of punch holes.. I never used mine all up.
The dive operators were the best I've ever experienced. For example, getting ready to dive, they have you sit on the stern of the boat and they bring your BCD to you and put it on right there. Then just do a forward tumble into the water. No stumbling around on the pitching deck loaded with dive gear.
Almost every day include a wall dive with monstrous barrel sponges. The small tropical fish were the best in my experience, including a rare Spotted Drummer fish. Lots of conch, stingrays, groupers, barracuda. We saw only one or two Black Tipped Reef sharks.
There were thunder and lightning storms every other day, and one of our dive days was cancelled due to weather. They're safety conscious.
On the other days when it was rough, they'd sail the dive boat out to the leeward side of the island where it was very calm and easy diving.
Couldn't say enough good things about the dive operators.
