My wife & I returned for our annual trip to the East End of Grand Cayman, diving with Ocean Frontiers. We flew American from Charlotte to Grand Cayman, then got a car ( included in dive package) & drove to East End, about 15-16 miles. The staff is friendly, helpful & professional. The 1 bedroom condo is well appointed, right beside the dive dock. There is an onsite restaurant which is good ( Eagle Ray's). There are some very good local restaurants ( Tukka's, Bombay Chopsticks, South Coast Grill, Over the Edge, & The Italian Kitchen) to name a few. A car is needed to go to these restaurants. We usually stop by a grocery store to get sandwich food for lunch. There is a nice onsite pool also. The dive operation, Ocean Frontiers, continues to be top notch, with excellent, professional dive masters & captains, with safety a top priority. They are very environmentally sensitive also, being sure to gather any trash both above & below the water. The viz was great 5 of the 6 days we dived, generally 100+ on the walls & 70-80 on the reefs. The corals were healthy for the most part, similar to Little Cayman. The fish life was good & we saw only 3 lion fish the entire week. The boats are good, with a new Newton 46 ( Gun Bay Diver) in the fleet. We really have no complaints at all, only kudos for the entire staff. Many divers go for the Green Shorts, a neat marketing tool to dive all 55 sites of the east end. |
