Comments This was our 23rd visit to Pirates Point since 1995. That alone should tell you how much we like it. There are a number of us who show up at the same time every year. It is always good to see old friends again. Since the resort only has 11 rooms whether you are a new guest or an old timer everyone gets to know everyone else pretty quickly and it is also very good to make new friends. For details I will refer you to the Undercurrent archive of my reviews from many previous years. I will note that Gladys Howard, the founder, died several years ago and is sorely missed. However, her daughter, Susan, has taken over and is doing a great job at continuing the traditions started by Gladys. Susan is also in the process of upgrading the physical plant. Last year during shutdown she redid the bar area and the dining room. We look forward to seeing what was done this year.

UW Photo Comments There is lots of subject matter for macro shooters. It seems that I can always find something that I have not seen before. This year it was a black ribbon worm. The resorts on the island have been jointly culling lionfish for a number of years and it has been successful as a lot of the small stuff like arrow blennies have returned.
