Comments [overall the diving was very good.we did two shore dive off the 7 mile beach dive tech location..worth only one dive but does have 25-30 very large tarpons just off shore..dove two more shore dives off their cobalt coast location..very nice easy dive..a true aquarium of fish life, great corals,sm-med fish and turtles..worth doing 2-4 times.their boats were not crowded(10-12 divers), clean, had o2,large dry camera tables, fresh water rinse for cameras only, saltwater for masks.large open transoms for easy entry/exits.staff helpful getting us in and out of water.gave good dive briefings,we rented a 8 passenger vehicle near the airport..good value as we traveled all over the island, but only eight passenger if six are children.island changed alot since last visits in 1983 and 1993..food prices out of sight, even if bought at grocery stores..$11-25 dollars for a burger was common.pizza hut was over $25 for a pizza in u.s. dollars, foodwise, coconut joes on 7 mile beach was best value for the money.exchange rate was $1.00 u.s. to $1.25 cayman..would not go back again purely due to costs..better diving can be had elseware for much less.stingray city still fun but the rays are getting alot more aggressive..several divers getting "raspberries" from the rays.the beaches are being eroded baddly as resorts put up concrete retaining walls to enclose "their" beach..the wave action really tears up the remaining beach areasand undercuts the retaining walls.. the diving overall was good but also getting more expensive..we did the dive tech package of 3 2-tank boat dives and unlimited tanks for shore diving for about $330.oo (u.s. dollars) they were very helpful and tried hard to please us and they did..would i dive with them should i return? absolutely! good people, good boats, good air fills(3000-3400,reasonable (for the caymans) prices..we did all our boat dives on nitrox for an extra fee(worth it!!)offered guided dives if needed, otherwise left you alone to do what you wanted..computer divers did as they pleased, others dove tables.the wall diving was still good as not every diver goes into the 100 ft+ depth range.sponges and corals still in good shape.turtle farm alot smaller than in the past, not much to see for the cost..still the money goes to a good cause, so check it out.stay away from georgetown when the cruise ships come in-too crowded and the prices are very high..should you buy anything, get away from georgetown!met cathy church, her shop(at sunset house) is a delight to see and she was a wonderful host!!
