Comments This is a well-run operation. Steve knows the lagoon and dive sites extremely well (watch him maneuver the dive boat through one meter of rock-filled water). Coral is extensive and healthy, fish life pretty sparse compared with the Caribbean, or even Hawai'i.
Two days of dives were on the south side of the island at Rutaki and Papua Passages. Interesting geography with canyons and swim-thrus, healthy corals, a reef shark, morays, a nudibrach and some small stars. One day on the north shore just outside Avarua harbor, brought beautiful, extensive coral, lots of bommies. Viz is about 20 m. Water temp about 23 C.
Raro is a beautiful, relaxing island, with great people. I recommend Pacific Divers.
