Comments I was very excited to visit Habitat after checking out a number of dive operations on the net in Curacao. With the exception of a night shore wreck dive, the rest of the diving was below average; no pelagics, no particularly interesting marine life, and decent corals. The famous Mushroom Forest was so-so, but certainly not a "must do" dive. The wreck dive (The Capitol Producer) was an added cost. There was generally only one boat per day doing two tanks; no afternoon boats were offered, despite the availability of two dive boats which seemed to just sit in the afternoons. The dive instruction for my friend was rather shabby - she came away with minimal skills and minimal appreciation for some very basic safety procedures.

Rooms were average, but certainly not at the level of Hamanasi or other dive resorts to which I've been. The food was average, but service and attitude in the kitchen staff was sub par on the best of days. Power service was spotty - although one of the Dutch resort managers was rather good about providing a few free beers and ham sandwiches for us when we arrived late, dinnerless, and when the kitchen was closed. Most of the rest of the staff appeared a bit clueless.
