Comments I wish I had gone there sooner over the years, and if I go back to this area, forget Bonaire. This was one of my best trips overall. The fact that Delta had a weekly direct flight from Atlanta was a good start, we were at the resort by 5PM (as opposed to wasting two days with Air Jamaica). I was a little anxious prior to the vacation, given a 2007 report in Undercurrents, but Habitat Curacao surpassed my expectations. Both the rooms, gardens and other public areas at the resort are well maintained. Habitat is away from town enough to be quiet, yet accessible within 45 minutes. Our group rented a car once without problems. The restaurant on-site is good, with moderate prices and some variety. On the first day, our table had a peak view into the kitchen where a cook actually skinned fresh fish for our sandwiches. The diving operation and boats were efficient, well maintained and the crew accomodating and helpful. There were always plenty of tanks, including nitrox. The coral reefs are gorgeous, big, with a lot of landscape, and some of the healthiest I have seen. We did 12 boat-dives and numerous shore dives from their dock, day and night. Creatures _visible from the dock_ included a young seahorse traveling on the sand between rocks, octopus, large crabs and green morays, a baby trunk fish that looks like a pea, squids, and many of the usual Caribbean reef fish. We were interested in the diversity of moray eel species, including a viper moray that we only saw previously in Hawaii. This trip was a success, with lots of good diving, good pictures, and plenty of relaxation.
