Comments I am very disappointed in the management of Ocean Encounters. They have a near monopoly on diving in Curacao and they act like it. On the first day, second dive, my wife was injured when she fell on the boat in full gear. The boat was rocking in very choppy water. The boat captain assisted her at the ladder then let go of her before she reached another handhold. The boat rocked and she went down. Because of the conditions, the captain should have made sure she was secure before letting her go. The owners of Ocean Encounters did arrange for a doctor to examine her (we paid) and then arranged for one of their employees to take her to the hospital to be examined the next day (we paid). They refused to reduce the charge for a week of diving for her even though she was unable to dive the remainder of the week. Their response when asked "we took her to the hospital". Ocean Encounters, as I said, has a near monopoly on Curacao diving. We will have to decide what we will do if we ever want to go to Curacao again.

Enforced diving restrictions Limited dives to 50 minutes. Had to stay with the group, but this was relaxed some as the week progressed and the Divemasters became familiar with us.

UW Photo Comments The reefs are beautiful. Both macro and wide angle subjects are plentiful and amazing. The boat has a rinse tank for your camera that will hold one large rig and then a few smaller cameras. There is absolutely nothing on shore for the photographer. This is very unfortunate since Curacao is such a great place to take pictures.
