Comments I AM A BEGINNER DIVER.I certified for OPEN WATER when I was 68 and now I am 78 years old.
I had to make the reservation on their website and get directions from them .The cruise ship came in at 8 AM and the only option available Sunday March 26 was a one tank dive at TUGBOAT .I was with 2 other diving ladies, another young married couple ,a professional underwater photographer and myself
Captain David had a detailed pre dive briefing .Underwater we had a lady dive instructor helping the young couple with their dive. The rest of us moved free around .The deepest point for me was 72ft .I excited the water at the 40 min 24 sec mark with 700 psi left.Water was 84 deg and visibility was about 70 ft.I liked the fact that we could move around and not follow the beginners with the dive instructor. The only requirement was to tell the dive instructor when we were at 1000 psi.At that point we moved to the tugboat wreck at 25 ft and spent some time on the safety stop. The dive shop was at the LION DIVE AND BEACH RESORT ten minutes taxi ride from the cruise ship terminal. The shop had a class room and all the material for PADI certification. The rental equipment shop had good rentals .I had to get fins, a CRESSI BCD and weigths.George in the store was very knowledgeable he helped the couple with replacement parts for their regulators. The price for one tank dive and rental was $ 67 I would recommend this dive shop for divers at my level of experience.
