Comments We had a mixed bag of dive conditions, from heavy chop to total calm. Only one dive was truly a drift, most had little or no current and we could take our time to look around.

Almost every dive had at least one large spotted drum and some eels. There were large schools of smaller fish, and one hammerhead was spotted. The variety of fish and reef critters was awesome. If you have a fish i.d. book, take it with you - you'll see species you may never have seen anywhere else.

Even better, though, were the amazing coral formations on practically every site. Watamula was one of the most incredible experiences we've had in the water. Seeing the Mushroom Forest the next day was quite a contrast.

Sunset Divers is a top notch operation, with two boats and a full dive shop. We had 17 on the boat, which was a little crowded, but manageable.

I would hope that photographers will take special care to respect the reef and the coral formations. Some on this trip did not.

Sunset Waters Resort is involved with the Lee's Reef Project, working with area school children to educate them about the amazing place they live. The entire Resort staff goes out of their way to make your stay a good one. A day trip to the Ostrich Farm is recommended as is a half-day in Willemsted.
