Comments Not Cozumel diving but a good place for macro, large fish are in the restaurants. Some plastic garbage at certain dive sites, but over all some good diving. Octopus, ells, crabs, drum fish, some of the largestbarrel sponges I ever saw in the Carribean. Most organized dive operation I have ever encounted. They do all the work, place your equiptment on your back and roll in to the water. Moderate costs, $25 a dive. Local restaruants and accomodations reasonable. Locals are friendly and some of the most happy people I have met after diving for 21 years all over the Carribean. North coast does dive briefings before you leave the shop and again on the boat. They call in to the shop after every dive. Very safety conscious. I would recommend to any one to try this area. One day trip to Rio San Joan was worth while.
This is a third world country so do not rate it like you are back in the USA. Come with a good attitude and you will be pleasantly surprised. Yes I would return again
