Comments If you are a serious diver staying in Punta Cana I suggest renting a car and taking the 45 minute drive to Bayahibe. Bayahibe is a sleepy village nestled between the resorts of La Romana. The town is very cool with wonderful restaurants and several funky hotels.

Have experienced many diving days with the Scuba Fun Team over the past two years. The dive sites are ~15 minutes from shore. The boats are large twin hull dive specific boats with plenty of room to spread out and walk around.

One of the best dives in the DR is the St. George wreck - Length 73 m / 240 ft., Stern 31 m / 102 ft., Depth 44 m / 144 ft., Top of the wreck 15 m / 50 ft. Many places to penetrate the wreck. The engine room requires advanced skills in an enclosed environment. Good vis and prolific sea life with all of the reef fish with occasional tuna, barracuda, eagle rays, and reef sharks cruising through.

The museum site which includes Spanish canons and cannon balls on the seabed is also worth visiting. Snorkelers can easily see the artifacts which are at a depth of 5 m / 15 ft.. Rental gear is good and the staff on the boat are a party waiting to happen. Very professional and lots of fun. Highly recommended
