Comments Unexpectedly strong currents, choppy water, very poor shore diving conditions. No one looked at my C card or had any idea of the the divers' experience in our group. Three very inexperienced divers were abandoned on their first night dive to find their own way back to the boat. This night dive occurred in the mouth of a river with very poor visibility due to recent rain run off.
Boat crew and dive masters were very friendly however their limited English made communication difficult at times. Resort food and accommodations were great except for large flying cockroaches in several rooms. Hey it's the tropics was not what I wanted to hear from the resort directors. My husband & I had stayed at Octopus Resort on Waya in the Yasawas the week previous and saw hardly a mosquito. I would definitely go back there!
The Beqa Shark Dive was a very positive experience for the divers in my group who participated as 2 or 3 big tigers came for the show calming things down a bit. My experience with the dive masters in the week leading up to the shark dive had not given me enough confidence in the Beqa dive operation to personally participate. I'm not a fan of shark feeds anyhow. Luckily for my friends nothing went wrong.
