Comments We went to Fiji with Kids Sea Camp. I took two of my kids, one of my daughters-in-law, and four grandkids. This was our second trip with KSC, and their trips are great. The kids spend the day in their SCUBA classes while the adults go diving. It was difficult to get to Beqa Lagoon Resort but was totally worth it. It was a wonderful resort -- nothing fancy but very picturesque with big rooms and a fabulous staff. The best thing was that the kids had the run of the resort. There was nowhere they could go, so it was totally safe, and they could come and go as they pleased.

This was the resort's first time to host KSC, so there were some hitches but nothing that affected our having a wonderful experience. And if anything came up, Margo and Tom Peyton, the owners of KSC, would be right there to help find a solution. We had lots of interaction with the local people and some wonderful local experiences.

The difficult part of this trip was the water being very cold. Fiji was having their coldest winter (our summer)on record. The air temperatures were very pleasant, but the water was cold. We had been advised that the water was colder than normal, so I had brought extra protection, but it still wasn't enough. If I had realized HOW cold the water would be, I would have brought even more protection. The kids were really cold in both the pool and the water. The dive shop was very accommodating in trying to provide extra protection for the adults. They do not carry kids' wetsuits. The diving itself was great. Some dives had a lot of current, which had positives and negatives. Some of the exits were pretty challenging. The dive staff was terrific in managing the rough seas and the exits.

Kids Sea Camp is a fabulous organization, and we have loved both of the trips that we have taken with them. Margo and Tom provide very personal service and provide a wonderful experience for kids and adults alike.

Closest Airport Nadi Getting There We flew from Houston to Los Angeles, where we had to change terminals and airlines. After arriving in Nadi, we took a 2-hour bus ride to the south side of the island and then a one-hour boat ride. When we got close to the resort, we switched to smaller boats and then waded in!
