Absolutely 5 star resort and diving experience! Australian owners Terri & Allan Gortan have hired superb staff from cooks, waitresses, land tour guides and diving operation people. Dive boats were safe and comfortable. Staff were very helpful with our dive gear prep and cleaning and gave good pre-dive briefings. When more divers arrived, Allan immediately hired another boat operator (Taveuni Sport Divers) who were also very knowledgeable of when and where to dive the local sites. We dove Rainbow Reef several times and saw the White Wall, Fish Factory, Freeway as well as going South to Vanu Reef and seeing Stair Case. We did one land tour, a 2 hour "Cannibal Cave" hike with guide Sepo, who was born and raised on Taveuni. He gave a wonderful history of the island, spoke about the local flowers and edible plants on the island, and what the lava tube "Cannibal Cave" was all about. Highly recommend it! We flew a 747-400 Air Pacific from LAX to Nadi and back to LAX, they left on time, gave great service and arrived early. From Nadi to Matei, Taveuni and back to Nadi, flew a 14 seat turbine Twin Otter of Pacific Sun on afternoon flights and departed and arrived on time. Would go back in a second! |
