Comments I travelled solo to Volivoli Resort June 5 - 13, 2015. I had read on- line that it was one of the few resorts that could access by boat the western edge of Bligh Waters (the Vatu-I-ra Passage), which lies about 5 miles off the north central coast of Viti Levu. The resort is set in a beautiful spot along a hillside. A van, taxi or rental car is required for the 2.5 hour drive. The resort offers a few room options (all with AC and great views). The beach is not large and sweeping, but still nice. The food is fairly basic but well prepared and good. The diving was simply outstanding, about a 45-minute boat ride out (occasionally with some chop on the way out). Large bommies and a few walls, kept pristine by open ocean currents, with healthy soft and hard corals, the usual indo-Pacific tropical and a healthy population of Spanish Mackeral, turtles, Trevally, reef sharks and other predators. On some dives, currents were medium to strong. Some folks stayed only a day or so, awaiting boarding the Fiji Siren, which leaves from the resort. All in all, an excellent trip!
