We did two days of diving with Wananavu as part of a three week trip to Fiji. My son and I started our trip with a week of diving on the Na"ia, so we were already accustomed to a pretty high standard before our dives with Wananavu. Our experience in diving with Wananavu was first class. Very friendly and professional staff. The staff loads your gear on to the boat and washes and dries your gear at the end of your stay. My wife and son rented gear; good quality, no equipment problems. Modern, high speed boat allows you to get to prime dive spots in less than an hour. Excellent selection of dive sites. The best of Fiji, lots of soft coral, interesting critters, zillions of fish and dramatic underwater scenery. Very comparable to what we experienced diving off the Na'ia. On the critical side, access to the best dive sites was dependent on the wind. We visited during the Fijian winter and most days were quite windy. On the Na'ia, this was no big deal. But from the mainland, windy days limited the dive sites that were accessible. Our schedule was flexible and we had already done a lot of diving so we picked two relatively calm days to dive. But others who had less flexibility in their schedules had to deal with some extremely rough conditions if they wanted to dive every day. Our experience may not be typical because we visited during winter months. As an FYI, the diving was expensive, but, given the remote location and the exceptional level of service, I thought it was a good value. |
