Comments Fakarava is known as a shark destination. The south pass is known as a center for both sharks and groupers (there is an annual grouper aggregation during the July full moon season). During this one day visit we saw sharks, sharks and more sharks (most grey reef, white tips and black tips) and many groupers. Ever though it was a very organized and relatively short dive (55 minutes max including safety stop) it is worth doing just for the experience). It's not easy to get here, as it's a 1 1/2 hour boat ride (on a small boat) and there is not much at the pass (just the pension) but still worth going to if just for one or two dives.
