Comments This is the most well run and safety conscious liveaboard we have ever been on. The facilities are superb and the food is amazing. Buffet breakfast with the addition of eggs to order, buffet lunch and 2 choices for a dinner that was served each night. For dinner there is a choice of a seafood or meat/chicken entree. Both lunch and dinner always have fresh veggies and greens which is really nice. Wine or beer with dinner is included. The crew is very, very good and each one performs a multitude of tasks. There are times even the captain is on the dive deck helping to get divers into and out of the water. They really pamper you with warm towels and hot chocolate after each dive & of course the required snacks. In addition, they rinse and hang your wetsuit so you don't have to stand on a chilly windy deck to do it yourself! Natasha our dive guide is excellent. She is friendly and fun as well as being a good guide. Santiago, the other dive guide and manager is also excellent and does a great job of communicating details about each day and what is going on. The bartender/waiter Gonzalas is a pleasure and attentive to every need and wish of the guests.

Diving is from inflatable tenders. There are always 3 people helping you into the tender since you have all your gear on. After the dive, hand up your gear and climb the ladder so it is pretty easy even with some chop at the surface.

We had decent weather with some clouds but mostly sun and were really lucky in that the dive conditions were relatively easy. Some days the sea was pretty flat and some days there were choppy conditions but we never had any of the strong currents that are normal in the Galapagos. The fish life is stunning with frequent sightings of hammerheads, galapagos sharks, mantas, mobula rays, big schools of fish and, even though it was the end of the season, 2 whale sharks. An abundance of turtles, lots of dolphins (but only at the surface) and sea lions on some of the dives. The quantity of fish is incredible and worth the effort to dive with heavy wetsuits (we used dry suits at the southern dive sites). If the Galapagos is on your wish list, we would highly recommend the Galapagos Sky.
